Longmont, Colo. – Jan 17, 2025 – The Colorado Grain Chain (CGC), a nonprofit organization that grows and connects a vibrant community-centered grain economy in the state, will hold its first Colorado Grain Summit on March 8, 2025, at the SteamPlant Event Center in Salida, Colo., a day after Guidestone’s 10th annual AgriSummit wraps up. The Colorado Grain Summit aims to inspire businesses using local grains to envision pathways for sustainable growth and increased market impact. This single-day conference will feature curated networking sessions, expert panels and keynotes highlighting innovative success stories across the grain supply chain.
The Summit’s opening keynote features Sarah Jones of Jones Family Organics and Heather Dutton from the San Luis Valley Water Conservation District on the topic of “Rye-sing Tides Float All Boats," featuring the Rye Resurgence Project. Subsequent breakout sessions include discussions about Whole Grains in Food Equity & Access, Growing Direct to Consumer Markets, Building Middle of the Supply Chain Markets, among others. The Colorado Grain Summit is for anyone that grows grain, produces or handles grain products with an interest in increasing local grain sourcing in Colorado such as farmers, bakers, brewers, maltsters, millers, distillers, chefs, food and beverage distributors, service providers or simply those who are eager to learn more about Colorado's local grain ecosystem.
