Community not Commodity
The Colorado Grain Chain is a membership based non-profit organization that seeks to grow and connect a vibrant community-centered grain economy in the state of Colorado.

Vision

Our vision is for every household, food and beverage supplier, and maker in Colorado to use and value locally grown grains. We want Colorado grown grains used in craft beers, artisan spirits, in kitchens, and on menus everywhere people live and gather.

We achieve our goals with the following prompts:
  • What do you need?
  • What can we do to help?
  • I’d like to introduce you to somebody.

Values Statements:
  • We strive to shorten the grain chain and contribute to the growth of our local economy, promoting sustainability and empowering local farmers and small-businesses.
  • We are dedicated to healing the soil and implementing practices that restore its health and fertility for the benefit of future generations.
  • We celebrate heritage, ancient and locally-adapted grain, inclusive of diverse farming practices.
  • We honor craftsmanship and advocate for superior nutrition and flavor by championing wholesome, nutrient-rich food options that not only nourish our bodies but also taste good.
  • We believe in the power of connection through our growing community of farmers, maltsters, millers, bakers, brewers, distillers, chefs, suppliers, food hubs, and consumers.
  • We are an inclusive organization, because there are many growing practices and a stunning diversity of Colorado grown grains from heritage and ancient to locally-adapted varieties.

The Colorado Grain Chain welcomes you to become a member today to support our mission and vision.
