The Colorado Grain Summit 

Saturday, March 7th 2026

SteamPlant Event Center in Salida, CO

The Colorado Grain Summit aims to inspire businesses using local grains to envision pathways for sustainable growth and increased market impact. This single-day conference will feature curated networking sessions, expert panels, and keynotes highlighting innovative success stories across the grain supply chain. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters partnerships, provides pathways to market expansion, and connects grain producers with businesses across Colorado.  

Who should attend The Colorado Grain Summit? 
The Colorado Grain Summit is for anyone that grows grain, produces, or handles grain products with an aspiring interest in increasing local grain sourcing in Colorado. If you are a farmer, baker, brewer, maltster, miller, distiller, chef, food & beverage distributor, service provider, or are eager to learn more about Colorado's local grain ecosystem - we invite you to join us!

Registration & Scholarships

NextGen Scholarships

Scholarships are available to the following individuals: 
  • Beginning farmers and food businesses in operation for 10 years or less
  • Young and aspiring farm and food industry professionals, including interns, apprentices, and enrolled students 
  • Aspiring producers  
  • Individuals actively working in the food and agricultural value chains 
  • Individuals from historically marginalized communities such as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
  • Scholarships cover full conference registration for Saturday (The Colorado Grain Summit), including lunch. Scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Scholarship recipients are expected to volunteer for two hours during the event. This may include assisting with meal service or session support. We ask that all recipients submit a survey with a short testimonial about the summit’s value to you.

The Colorado Grain Chain is a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow and connect a vibrant community centered grain economy in the state of Colorado. Our vision is for every household, food and beverage supplier, and maker in Colorado to use and value locally grown grains. We want Colorado grown grains used in craft beers, artisan spirits, in kitchens, and on menus everywhere people live and gather. We are growing a local grain movement focused on supporting and engaging stakeholders across Colorado local grain economy - from growers, maltsters, millers, bakers, brewers, distillers, to every-day consumers. 

Northwest & Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center: As part of the network of USDA Regional Food Business Centers, the Northwest and Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center supports a more resilient, diverse, and competitive food system.  This Center is part of USDA’s new Investments in Farms and Rural Communities. This Center is designed to be a node for our region’s small and mid-tier food and farm businesses and local and regional food sector development initiatives by supporting cross-regional collaboration, providing and analyzing relevant and timely data, serving as a gateway for USDA programs and other third-party funding opportunities, with a focus on underserved farmers, ranchers, and food businesses.

Guidestone Colorado: This event is hosted in partnership with Guidestone's 11th Annual AgriSummit Conference. In the spirit of connection and collaboration, Guidestone is partnering with Colorado Grain Chain to host a full ag-packed weekend that includes both the Colorado Grain Summit (March 7th), following the AgriSummit events (March 5th-6th) that include tours of local farms, a happy hour, a seed swap, and a film screening.
