This Year's Sweet Spot: Makers Take Center Stage

We're Calling All Makers: We’re talking to you – the bakers, brewers, distillers, and food innovators who transform organic grains into the products we love. Whether you're crafting artisanal bread, brewing the perfect beer, or creating the next great pasta, this year’s funding round is intended for you! We also welcome non-profit organizations, food hubs, local groceries, government agencies, and restaurants to apply if you have a project that is dedicated to bringing organic grains to market in Colorado.

More Time to Apply:
We heard you needed more runway, so we've extended the application deadline to September 8, 2025. That's nearly three extra weeks to polish your proposal and envision how $5,000 could transform your business. Please review our full timeline on our program page for more details!

Who Can Apply?

The 2025 program maintains its commitment to supporting Colorado projects that are dedicated to getting certified organic grain products to market. We encourage all to apply who can meet the following criteria:
  • Certified organic status or in transition to organic certification (applies to business applicants, non-profits excluded from this)
  • Colorado-based operations
  • Current CGC Business Membership–it’s free to join! (Email lily@coloradograinchain.com
  • A project proposal showing market connectivity for organic Colorado grains with at least three partnerships along the grain supply chain
  • While 2025 prioritizes 'makers' who turn organic grains into final products (brewers, distillers, bakers, chefs), nonprofits, government agencies, food hubs, groceries, and restaurants may also qualify if their projects support certified organic grain market development.

What would you do with $5,000?

Imagine what $5,000 could do for your operation. Whether it’s buying a piece of equipment that will enhance efficiency, investing in marketing and education of local grains, developing a new product with local grains, the possibilities are endless. This year's microgrants are perfect for projects that make a real impact.

Learn more and check out example projects on our program page here.

Each winning project will also strengthen Colorado's grain community by forging at least three partnerships along the supply chain – because we believe collaboration makes us all stronger.

Ready to Make It Happen?

Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers. Apply by September 8 and join the makers who are transforming Colorado's grain landscape, one product at a time.
