CGC Staff & Board at 2024 Annual Meeting
We're excited to share some big news from the Colorado Grain Chain as we've welcomed three new members to our Board of Directors! As we celebrate this transition, we want to first express our sincere gratitude to Sarah Jones, Carmen Pacheco, and Joan Rasmussen for their dedicated service and valuable contributions to our organization.

Please join us in giving a warm hello to Jenileigh Harris, Laura Poss, and Chris Schooley, who were officially voted in on June 19th. This year, we had a truly inspiring group of applicants including folks from across the state that each bring unique experiences and a shared passion for building a stronger, more connected local grain economy. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who applied, and we're thrilled to bring these three thoughtful leaders onto the board.

Here’s a quick introduction to our newest board members:

  • Jenileigh Harris brings a decade of advocacy experience in local and regional food systems. Since 2021 she has worked with the Artisan Grain Collaborative in the Midwest gaining deep knowledge of regional grain supply chains. We’re excited to welcome her specialized expertise in community-centered grainsheds and their role in fostering connections around food, beverages, and environmental stewardship.

  • Laura Poss co-operates Grains from the Plains, a family-run farm on Colorado’s Eastern Plains. With deep roots in hands-on grain production and a deep knowledge of state and national farm issues, Laura brings both practical knowledge and policy insight to the board.

  • Chris Schooley, co-founder of Troubadour Maltings, is a creative mind in the craft malt world. He brings both technical expertise and entrepreneurial energy to conversations around regional grain supply chains.

These three bring fresh ideas, big hearts, and a deep belief in the work we’re doing together. As a member-based organization, our board plays a big role in shaping the direction and values of CGC. We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes us.
