The Kernza® project in Colorado, led by Troubadour Malting, Native Hill Farm, and Stodgy Brewing, is focused on overcoming challenges in processing this perennial wheat for local use. Thirty-five acres of Kernza® have been planted, yet there is a lack of adequate in-state seed cleaning equipment, specifically a dehuller. Troubadour’s microgrant grant will fill this critical gap and establish a sustainable, local supply chain for future Kernza® harvests.
